Our Services

Anchor clients and potential clients find themselves needing assistance in various circumstances. We have developed a customizable care approach designed to meet typical needs and assist with a range of activities relevant to the circumstances in which you find yourself. All care plans for any circumstance can be customized or completely designed from scratch to ensure just the right fit for your particular needs.

Personal Care

Almost all of our clients need some form of personal care. People who need personal care services may be struggling with physical limitations due to age which make it difficult to perform basic activities of daily living. We delight in fulfilling our purpose to help our clients meet these needs at a high level. It is our goal not to check a box, but rather to offer an experience which is as enjoyable as it is productive.

Recovery Care

Orthopaedic patients experiencing various procedures on hips, knees, shoulders, back, etc., have special needs for recovery and therapy. Our CNA’s are there to assist with basic life activities as well as to assist patients in following the instructions of a physical or occupational therapist. Patients who have the assistance of an Anchor care professional are less likely to re-injure themselves and have a better chance at a complete recovery while experiencing shorter recovery times. Our care professionals often accompany our clients on visits with orthopedists and therapists to receive instruction along with our clients and to report on progress to better assist with recovery.

Domestic Services

Anchor care professionals are trained to perform domestic services. Meal, preparation, service and clean-up, light housekeeping, errands and other household services can often be performed better and more cost-effectively than through traditional service providers. These projects can be one-off, such as with a closet reorganization or pantry purge, or ongoing such as personal training accountability, but whatever the need, you can count on it being met affordably and well.

Assisted Living

Alternative

Assisted living options in whatever form they take necessitate drastic change. Clients are uprooted from the family home in which they have often lived for decades. Familiar surroundings, valued things, especially photos and art, and comfortable furniture contribute to personal comfort and well-being. The transition to a facility means being stripped of all these things. In-home care can delay the transition to a facility for far less than moving to a long-term care location, even without considering typically high up-front costs. The option of staying in a familiar environment is especially critical for patients who have dementia.

Bereavement Care

When a spouse passes, you lose a companion, confidant, supporter, and life-long friend, creating a hole in most areas of your life. We often don't realize all our loved ones do until they are gone. The emotional toll can be overwhelming, not to mention that life still goes on--we must establish a new routine while still performing normal household tasks, all at a time when we may have trouble sleeping or need help with personal care. Anchor caregivers can pick up the slack to give you time to grieve and can stand in the gap to perform some of the tasks and roles that your spouse had filled. They can help you transition to a new pace of life and be there to comfort, console and provide companionship as you adjust. Anchor caregivers receive training in grief counseling and have communications training in relational skills such as reflexive listening and empathy. Allow our compassionate care team to help you through one of the most challenging times of life – the loss of a spouse.

Transitional Care

Hospital patients who are ready to go home sometimes experience a delay be discharged due to the need for some level of assistance to meet discharge instructions. Our care team of Certified Nursing Assistants partner which hospital staff to carry out doctor’s orders and aid patients in returning home safely. Often there are new routines of medications, behaviors or exercises in the cases where physical therapy and/or occupational therapy are required. Our care professionals ensure that discharge instructions are followed and chart care notes

Memory Care

Studies show that 1 in 10 adults over age sixty-five will have some form of dementia. They also show that one-third of dementia cases are preventable. With proper care, it is possible that the onset/progression of dementia can be slowed. Regardless, our experienced care team are trained in proper techniques for caring for and relating to dementia patients.

Transportation

One of the things that makes Anchor unusual is that we offer transportation services. Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, a quick run to the grocery store or a weekly family gathering, our care team can provide safe transportation with transition assistance into and out of the vehicle at a cost that is often less than that of an Uber.

In-Facility Care

A significant percentage of Anchor clients have transitioned to an assisted living facility. After the move, they often discover that expectations about the length and frequency of one-on-one care still need to be met. Care visits can sometimes be as short as a few minutes and only occur once or twice daily. Residents find themselves alone 98% of the time, with long wait times after service is requested. Anchor provides a much-needed supplement to in-facility care. Our consistent, dependable caregivers build relationships with our clients characterized by trust and faithfulness. An Anchor care professional not only offers peace of mind but also guarantees that personal one-on-one care, preferences and schedules will be upheld.

End-of-Life Care

Hospice patients receive a limited amount of care each week from their Hospice nurse but very often patients require much more care. Anchor care professionals have a wealth of Hospice experience and can meet their unique end of life needs. Family and social connections, spiritual care, and expert specialized personal care are essential to ensure comfort, dignity and peace in this transitional time of life.

Respite Care

Clients with a friend or a family member acting as a primary caregiver are truly blessed. However, these precious souls also need care to avoid the risks associated with finding themselves in need of care. Sleep, nutrition, physical exercise, personal time and spiritual care are essential for ongoing overall personal well-being. Anchor care professionals can help provide a break or offer assistance for primary caregivers to enable them to care for themselves and thus ensure they can provide care for their loved ones over the long term.
